The Gloves Are Off!
Fulltilitpoker.com have announced that they are to sponsor Winky Wright in his Middleweight World Championship Boxing bout against Jermain Taylor at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee this Saturday, June 17.
As part of the deal, the Middleweight title contender and his team will be outfitted in Full Tilt Poker-branded gear during the televised weigh-in on June 15th, at the press conference on June 16th, and during the fight on June 17th.
The sponsorship will be Fulltiltpoker.com’s second foray into the boxing ring and forms part of the company’s brand extension, which has seen ventures into poker television programming airing throughout the past year. Other branding initiatives for 2006 have included the Sundance Film Festival Premiere Film and Music Lounge, the Stuff Magazine Kentucky Derby Party and Poker Tournament, and the House of Hype Gentlemen’s Retreat in anticipation of the MTV Movie Awards.
‘Team Full Tilt’ is a select group of the world’s finest professional poker players, including Chris Ferguson, Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, Jennifer Harman, Erick Lindgren, Erik Seidel, Andy Bloch, Phil Gordon, Clonie Gowen, John Juanda, and Mike Matusow.
