TrueMoneygames Sponsors World Backgammon Championship

After the rise of poker, Backgammon is now emerging as a popular online game with reaches more than one million online players.

This success has led online Backgammon server TrueMoneygames (TMG) into sponsoring the 31st World Backgammon Championship in Monte Carlo. The event will bring together the world's greatest players to compete for the World Backgammon Championship title and a prize pool of up to �300,000. The event will be broadcast by TMG with real-time transmission of the semi-finals and the finals and automated live match analysis.

The World Championship will take place at the Fairmont Monte Carlo from July 10 to 16 2006. In an attempt to bring newcomers to the Tournament TMG will sponsor over 12 full entry packages to the Championship offered to the winners of its online qualifiers running throughout June on its software.

TMG will also be hosting and sponsoring the annual World Online Backgammon Championship with the winner receiving an entry package to Monte Carlo where online and offline Backgammon stars will battle it out for the title of World Backgammon Champion.
