Teddy Sheringham Makes Poker Debut

Premiership footballer Teddy Sheringham this week made his debut in a new sport this week, taking on top poker professionals at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Mandalay Poker Championship in Las Vegas.

Sheringham is competing against some of the world�s top poker players at WPT's premiere poker tournament for an estimated first prize of US $4 million. Sheringham represents VC Poker.com, for whom he recently made his debut as online ambassador, taking on online players from all over the world.

'It's a great step from the East End of London to the Wild West of Vegas but I reckon playing poker at the top level takes as much nerve as playing top soccer,� admits Sheringham. �Professional poker is something which seriously interests me as a career once I finally have to call it a day on the soccer field and I am delighted to be associated with the VC Poker community.�
