Mapau Casino Review

There’s a great selection of games, 65 in total including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Keno, Baccarat, PaiGow, Sic Bo, Scratch pad, video Poker games and slots plus Progressive Jackpots.

It also includes innovative Playtech games such as Blackjack Switch, which in theory is great for keeping your options open while playing two interchangeable hands. If you like Blackjack Switch (or other standard game variations such as Poker Three), Mapau is a good bet.

Playtech is beginning to rival the likes of Microgaming for progressive jackpots. The Cinerama slot’s progressive jackpot stood at $268,000 when I visited, and there are other progressive games and slots such as Wall Street. There are standard slots, bonus screen slots, multispin slots, 5 liners, 9 liners, 5 reelers - you name it, Mapau probably has it, slot-wise. And don’t forget the similarly large selection of video pokers!

There are lots of other nice things about the interface, such as the game history (a few software providers have this, but Playtech’s is the easiest on the eye), multi-player and private tables, multi-hand games, chat facility etc. Support is via live text chat support and toll free numbers available 24/7.

As for bonuses, there’s a no-deposit $30 sign-up bonus applicable only to slots, and a 50% sign-up bonus on first deposits, with a very low 4 times deposit plus 4 times bonus wagering requirement. There are also ongoing promotions such as the $600 weekly draw. Not bad.

The payout percentages are audited by the Online Players Association, showing an overall payout percentage for June 2004 of 97.9% – I have no idea how credible this is, suffice to say the OPA isn’t a recognized accountancy company like PricewaterhouseCoopers. However, more importantly, Mapau is part of the Sunny Group, a reputable global gambling brand which operates land-based casinos in the Caribbean and Africa. Sunny Group’s reputation in the ‘real world’ of gambling should be enough to reassure punters.

Overall verdict? great software, solid operator, modest but reasonable bonus policy = well worth checking out.
