In response to the sharp increase in female online poker players, 888.com has announced it has designed a card room solely for the lady card shark.

Matt Robinson, 888.com's UK Marketing Manager said: 'From a study of 888.com's 10 million members, one statistic that stands out head and shoulders over any other stats, is women playing poker on line is at an all time high and the percentage of women plying on line looks set to further increase. 888.com promise that amongst the �latest colours and styles� on offer are �hot pink baize and disco balls�, as well as the opportunity to order virtual Sex in the City style cocktails from a virtual bar. They have also expanded the chat box facility after their extensive research revealed that women enjoy a good gossip.

888.com spokesperson, author and 'godfather of poker' Al Alvarez said: 'I firmly believe women make better poker players and this great new facility should help attract more women to take up the game and learn online.'
