Poker Suppliers' Insurance Gamble

If you happen to get your poker kit in the Salt Lake City area, it may be time to look for a new supplier. After admitting to arson charges, Christopher A. Shilts, the owner of ‘Cards, Chips and More’ is looking at a hefty 20 year prison sentence, not to mention the end of his poker-related business. The supplier twice burned down his own store in an attempt to elicit money from insurance companies, an offence to which he also admitted his guilt. The 29-year-old set fire to his store and then joined onlookers and reporters watching the burning building, telling those who would listen that someone wanted to destroy his life. On top of his insurance gamble, Shilts also duped unsuspecting eBay customers out of more than $83,000. At least he’ll have plenty of leisure time to play some Texas Hold ‘Em over the next two decades.
