American Army Fighting for Online Poker

Poker fanatics across the US are joining in unison to defend their game in reaction to the recent clampdown on Internet gambling, which has seen many online casinos and poker rooms avoiding the US market due to the uncertain legal issues surrounding the ‘Wire Act’.

Entertainment executive Philip Ittleson has recently launched LetThePeoplePlayer.org, a new website dedicated to educating an estimated 70 million US poker fanatics and rally them to defend their rights, in an attempt to raise a volunteer ‘army’, to heighten Washington’s awareness of the unpopularity of its actions amongst the American public.

Ittleson, executive producer of a new poker documentary ‘No Limit’, due for release in October, recently stated, 'The whole internet gaming ban is a joke, poker players are not terrorists, lets get our priorities straight. The biggest crime is that we are not regulating and taxing it.'

The website has already attracted celebrity backing through LA singer Lucie Jourdan, who pointed to the more pressing matters that the government should be addressing, such as global warming, and the conflict in the Middle East, rather than concentrating a sustained assault on the online poker industry. “When you put it perspective it sickens me that Washington is wasting valuable time and our hard earned tax dollars on this frivolous bill.”
