Bodog�s Man is Worth His Weight in Gold

The Bodog.com sponsored poker player, Jamie Gold, has converted his impressive final round lead by winning the Main Event of the 2006 World Series of Poker. Gold, who had been leading the tournament for over a week, came to the final table with over $26 million in chips, nearly $9 million more than his nearest competitor, and walked away with the $12 million first prize as well as the gold bracelet.

The former Hollywood agent turned television producer emerged from a field of over eight thousand to beat experienced poker journeymen of the calibre of Dan Nassif and Allen Cunningham, to the tournament title.

Gold said of his victory, 'I can't believe it, I am very happy. It started off tough, but once I felt in control, I realized that if I continued to play my game, I would be very hard to beat.' He added, 'This wouldn't have been possible without the support of my friends and family along with the members of Team Bodog.'

Gold signed a two-year endorsement deal with Bodog.com which includes the standard tournament buy-ins and promotional appearances, together with a $1-million television production deal, and a Jamie Gold table on Bodog.com.
