Johnson, who has admitted that if he were to waive his no-trade clause and make a move, his $33 million loss in salary would give the D'backs a chance to get back into contention in a league where they trail with a miserable 31-58 outlook.
'Johnson, who is no relative of mine by the way, has made it clear that he wants to get back on a winning team.' said Dave Johnson, CEO of WAGERWEB. 'At forty years of age, he does not have much time left to repeat his co-MVP performance of 2001, when Arizona took out the Yankees in that seven-game World Series thriller. When asked about earlier statements made such as, 'I don't want to leave Arizona.' he is reported to have admitted, 'I don't know if I could say that any longer.'
