Daniel Negreanu Reacts Angrily to US Legislation

Daniel Negreanu has written a blog post at an online poker portal in which he describes Senator Frist, the man chiefly responsible for successfully adding gambling prohibition legislation to a Port Security Bill, as a “slimy weasel.”

“For the most part,” Negreanu says in his blog, “I think they can take their bill and shove it where the sun don't shine.”

“In a time where Italy recently announced that they will legalise online gambling and most European countries following suit,” said Negreanu, “it just boggles my mind that the US government fails to realise that they do not govern the world, they cannot put a stop to online gaming, and they are costing the American people billions and billions of dollars in tax dollars that they could use to spend on education, welfare or just building more ‘pretty’ bombs.”

Turning to Senator Frist, Negreanu launched a bitter attack, labelling him a “self-righteous douche bag who has decided to push upon us his moral agenda.”

Finally, Negreanu ended by advising his readers to join the Poker Players Alliance (PPA), a lobbying organisation which has opposed the new legislation and battled it for months. “This is no Sally Struthers plea, this is serious,” said Negreanu. “The more people we have behind the PPA the more leverage we could have in Washington.”
