Online Poker Players to Carry Out Telephone Demo

Following the announcement that talks on the future of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, which was passed with an overwhelming 317-93 majority in July, may resume at the Senate, PocketFives and the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) are again joining forces to fight the application of the legislation to poker.

From 09:00 ET to 17:30 ET on Tuesday September 12 2006, concerned online poker players and online gamblers in the US are being invited to call a toll-free number which will then connect them to the appropriate senators� offices, totally free of charge.

'This is an easy way to send a message,' says PocketFives.com president Cal Spears. 'If everyone voices their disapproval for this legislation on the same day, we will send a clear signal to the Senate that America does not support banning internet gambling and online poker.'

At the PocketFives website, callers can find a complete background on the bill itself as well as talking points for the forthcoming �phone march.�
