Poker Tournament Scheduled for Cannes Film Festival

In between walking the red carpets, celebrities are reportedly being invited to a charity poker tournament to take place in Cannes at the same time as the annual film festival.

10 celebrities will sit down and play at what organisers are billing the �Game of the Century� for a chance to win as much as $60 million for the charity of their choice. At least $1 million will be given away to charity during the poker event which will mark 60 years of the Cannes Film Festival.

The $60 million will be given away if one of the players hits a royal flush in hearts, a feat as rare as being struck by lightning, but still entirely possible.

Producers will apparently film the event using eight cameras for TV broadcast and sale and a DVD of the event will be available for Christmas, 2007.

The names of the poker-playing participants are expected to be announced before the end of this year.
