Team PokerRoom.com Cleans Up at Poker Classic Champs

One can practically hear the champagne corks a-popping at Team PokerRoom.com HQ, following a series of triumphs by their players at the final table of the first Ongame Network Poker Classic Championship in Barcelona.

Of the 273 players who made it to the online final on November 4, the top 45 qualified for the live final and were flown to sunny Spain for the No Limit Texas Hold'Em two-day tournament which took place from December 1 to 3 at the prestigious Casino de Barcelona.

In all, the 16 Team PokerRoom.com players in the 45-person final took home a total of $600,000 in prize money.

'The tournament has demonstrated once again why PokerRoom.com players are among the best in the world,' said Karin Klein, a spokesperson for PokerRoom.com.

'PokerRoom.com players displayed nerves of steel, incredible skill, savvy and a touch of luck to beat their opponents,� added Klein. �It's clear that the Ongame Network Poker Classic is destined to be one of the premier online poker tournaments in the world.'

Stuart 'foxystong' Fox from the UK outlasted all of the competitors and taking home a $239,383 prize and a $10,000 gold-and-ruby card protector trophy.
