Poker Reporter Seeks Sixty Cent Main Event

Intrepid poker hack Aaron Todd traded a 60-cent cheque from an internet poker room for a set of 500 poker chips to GoldenPalace.com this week.

The transaction is the first step in Todd's goal to turn his 60-cent check into the buy-in for the Main Event of the 2007 World Series of Poker.

Todd won the money in a free online tournament. He planned to play real money games with his 60 cents until he either made $100 or lost it all, but the site he won at decided not to allow US customers to play for real money after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was passed in late September.

Since he couldn't use the money on PKR.com, Todd asked the company to send him a cheque for the full 60 cents. After writing a column requesting readers to recommend what he should do with the money, one suggested he should trade it for something better. Todd liked the idea so much that he decided he would make a series of trades until someone offered him the $10,000 buy-in for the Main Event of the WSOP.

He received over a dozen trade offers when he posted the story. The best offer came from internet casino GoldenPalace.com, which offered a set of 500 custom poker chips for the cheque.

'This is obviously a huge trade,' Todd says. 'These chips are amazing, and they aren't available for purchase anywhere. They would make a great addition to someone's home game or just as collector's items, and I look forward to receiving trade offers for the chip set.'
