Poker Room in Swiss Showdown

Online poker room CelebPoker.com has announced that it will be sending its online tournament winners to the televised Showdown Poker Tour Montreux Main Event, which takes place between January 31 and February 4 2007.

The $9,000 prize package is set to include the �5,550 entry fee to the No Limit Texas Hold�em tournament to be held at the Casino de Montreux in Switzerland, plus $1,600 towards accommodation and travel expenses.

CelebPoker.com is currently running satellite tournaments over the next five weeks, with the winners going through to a $380 online final on January 7 to determine the Showdown Poker Tour qualifiers. The satellites are running on a daily basis with winners going forward into the weekly Sunday $40 final to compete for a place in the online final.

In other news, CelebPoker.com has unveiled a new monthly online poker tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000. Entry to the tournament can be achieved via the daily satellite events or through a $120 plus $10 buy-in.
