World Poker Tour Schedule Released

Organisers of the World Poker Tour have upped the ante and announced an extra stop on the competition’s third season itinerary next summer. The Mirage Poker Showdown will take place in Vegas from the 29th July to 1st August 2005 and hopefuls can start signing up for satellite qualifiers now at the various casinos and online poker rooms that host WPT tournaments (visit www.worldpokertour.com for details).

A spokesperson said: “This new Tour stop represents an expansion over the Tour's second season in 2003-2004, when the total prize money for the Tour reached $35 million.”

Season three will now comprise fifteen tournaments and, as well as the Mirage, will take in everywhere from Atlantic City to the island paradise, Aruba. The final will, once again, be held in April at the Bellagio.

The World Poker season three will kick off at the Aviation Club de France in Paris next month.
