Hammer of the Gods

In one of the strongest line-ups ever seen in a UK poker tournament, The William Hill Grand Prix II will see the poker Gods and Goddesses battle it out over 7 gruelling heats for a £500,000 prize pool.

Reading like a ‘Who’s Who’ of World Poker, the field includes American titans Phil 'Unabomber' Laak and Antonio Esfandiari and top Europeans Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott, Andy Black and ‘El Blondie’, Dave Colclough.

Twelve online qualifiers also have the chance to pit their skills against the 44 other professionals, and with an extra £164,000 added to the prize pool by William Hill, it’s destined to become as tasty for the pros as the lucky amateurs.

In a tough structure, just the winner from each heat progressed through to the final. The second place players from each heat go forward to a semi-final, giving them another chance of making that final table.

The action is set to hit the TV screens on Sky Sports from Tuesday January 30.
