Tuesday 20th February 2007 Lucky Online Qualifier Wins Free EPT Seat
Players flocked to Pacific Poker at the weekend to fight it out for a seat to the Dortmund leg of the European Poker Tour (EPT). ‘kassike’ negotiated fierce competition to claim the $10,000 package, including the $8,500 tournament entry.
By the time the field had narrowed down to five players, the blinds were at 250/500 and it was DMTRX, IMNTZONE, Ryoxyz, kassike and k3nn3 at the final table, with the tension high.
In final heads-up play, the aggressive DMTRX couldn't afford the 500/1000 blinds and had his A-2 dominated by kassike's A-9. When an 8 came on the flop and nothing for the rest of the board, kassike took the title and the seat at the EPT Dortmund.
The qualifier counted towards Pacific’s ‘Poker Pro For A Year’ League, where players earn points towards a league table and the chance to bag huge prizes. The league winner will receive full sponsorship into four major poker tournaments in 2008, worth over $50,000.
This package includes travel, accommodation, expenses and buy-ins, plus the winner will receive their own blog on www.pokerproforayear.com to record their experiences from travelling on the poker tournament circuit.
