Full Tilt Online Series Ends With a Bang

Full Tilt brought its Online Series to a close with its piece de resistance: the $1.5 million-guaranteed no-limit hold’em main event. And it was online pro Alex ‘traheho’ Torelli who scooped the $288,000 share of the prize pool.

Last night’s main event lured 3,217 entrants at $500 apiece, to build a prize pool of $1,608,500. Players had to dig in their heels until only 459 players remained if they wanted to get a piece of the prize.

Torelli was in good company. A few of Full Tilt’s sponsored pros were present and correct, including Chris Ferguson, Mark Vos and Layne Flack.

There were still some highly notable players left when it got down to the final table action. The most recognisable name at the table was poker pro Robert “Miss Lulu” Williamson III, a World Series of Poker bracelet winner in pot-limit Omaha. Also battling it out was Internet poker legend Brian “tsarrast” Rast, chip leader going into the final table, and Justin “Boosted J” Smith, the Full Tilt Online Series tournament leader board leader before the main event began.

Torelli had the chip lead with three players remaining, with $7.2 million compared to Smith in second place with $4.6 million. After Rast busted out in 3rd, the heads up would last a meagre 2 minutes as traheho’s AK held out over Boosted J’s AQ to settle the contest. Smith took a respectable $175,326 for his efforts.

Both players will receive special avatars for their performances at the FTOPS. Traheho earned an exclusive gold FTOPS jersey avatar for winning the main event.
