Nice guy finishes first in WTP

The latest World Poker Tour (WPT) has seen an amateur player from Orange County beat poker pros and celebrity players alike in a victory not only for him, but for breast cancer.

Forty-two-year old Adam Weinraub pledged to donate $20,000 of the $100,000 he scooped from his win to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, after initially securing his seat in the tournament in an auction for breast cancer research.

Weinraub floored celebrity players Paris Hilton, Vince Vaughn and Don Cheadle on his way to the final table, where the ultimate hand included two pros and two famous names from Hollywood.

Tim West and "Miami" John Cernuto battled it out with hit director Nick Cassavetes and Glen Morshower, actor from the enormously popular series, 24; but no one could stop Weintraub in his triumphant quest.

After this victory secured Weinraub a place April's World Poker Tour World Championship, the gentleman confirmed that he would donate a further 20 per cent of any winnings from that event too.
"The WPT was generous enough to donate a seat into this event at a charity auction for the Susan G Komen Foundation for breast cancer research, and I thought, 'wow, what a great way to play poker while supporting the cause'.
