US Poker Club Busted

The Pinnacle Club in Indianapolis was raided on Tuesday, and 60 players, including a State trooper, were issued a court summons. One semi-professional player not at the club that night said, �I've been going there for about two years and never had a problem.' He also said that he knew at least three other local police officers who regularly played at the Pinnacle Club.

This comes as a double blow for the Pinnacle�s owners as the club was robbed by two men, one with an Uzi-style automatic handgun, on March 6. The thieves took $11,700.

Police investigated the club for a year prior to the raid, where $6,000 and poker chips, computers, flat-screen monitors and other gambling paraphernalia were seized. Police said it appears the Pinnacle ran games seven days a week. The players, men and women between the ages of 18 to 70, will face charges of an illegal gambling misdemeanour.

Canine officer Kyle D. Freeman, 30, a seven-year veteran of the force faces the same charge, and has been assigned to desk duty. It is not known if his dog Dudley has been trained to play the game.
