Mansion Poker Forced to Apologise Over Tourney Blunder

The first Mansion Poker $100k guaranteed tournament over the weekend at 11:00 GMT suffered an embarrassing crash leaving 350 players disgruntled after just five minutes of play.

Whilst the software suffered at the hands of technical difficulties, the irritated players went straight to poker forums to register their complaints. Whilst most players expected to receive their $100 buy-ins back, a few begun to question whether they would receive a share of the $65,000 overlay.

In the end, all players were refunded by close of business that day. Additionally, players were offered two free entries into the $100k guaranteed tourney this week.

An email from the poker room’s support desk read: 'We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of tournament play being interrupted today at Mansion. In this case, the cause of the interruption was beyond our control. Please rest assured that these issues have now been fully investigated and resolved.'

'As the tournament was cancelled within five minutes of start and only around six hands were played per table, we feel that chip positions at the time of crash would have little bearing on players' final position. For this reason we believe the fairest and most equitable course of action is to refund all players their initial buy-in.'
