Essex builder makes UK history with $500,000 win

A builder from Loughton in Essex made gambling history yesterday by winning the largest single jackpot win ever recorded in the UK. The whopping $500,000 windfall was won on 888.com's Treasure Twirl slot game. The 36 year old winner is keen to keep his identity a secret and to date has only told his best friend of the win. He plans to surprise his wife and kids by building them a new home with his winnings. First on the list, however, will be 'a brand new sports car and plenty of partying'.
