Doyle�s Room Folds US Hand Post-UIGEA

Doyle Brunson Poker Network, the home of the popular Doyle's Room, has announced that it will ban US players access to its site from March 1.

American players logging into the site earlier this week would have been met with the following message after their US IP addresses were detected: 'As you may be aware, the management of the Doyle Brunson Poker Network has decided not to permit online real money play by US based players.'

All customers affected by the changes were promptly emailed and have been offered the option of transferring their accounts, with all their accumulated action points to online poker site Full Tilt.

A spokesman for Doyle's Room issued the following statement to PokerNews.com: �In view of the passage of the UIGEA and the cessation of operations by NeTeller and other payment processors, the management of DoylesRoom.com has reluctantly decided not to permit online real money play by US-based players at DoylesRoom.com.�

However, there are also reports that the poker room is in discussions about a possible takeover, with three companies reported to be interested, including Full Tilt poker.
