Full Tilt Poker Online Series Begins

The third season of Full Tilt's Online Poker Series (FTOPS) is to start today, February 9, 2007.

Spread across 10 events, players will be battling at the virtual tables for a slice of the hefty $3.4million guaranteed prize pool. The no-limit Texas Hold�em event alone will have a guaranteed $1.5 million prize pool. This event is scheduled for February 18, 2007.

The last tourney in the ongoing series took place in November 2006. Though the prizepool was smaller, it still attracted some of poker�s biggest personalities.

Last year's FTOPS leaderboard champ was Gary Bodganski, who is likely to be competing again this year, along with the 2006 FTOPS main event winner, 'Spiked,' who won $224,000 last November.

Organisers don�t expect that the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act and current Department of Justice actions against online payment processors in the US will have an adverse effect on the popularity of the series.
