Online Casino Turns Down �15m Takeover

The owner of online poker room Purple Lounge.com Chris Gorman has revealed that the firm has recently turned down a �15 million acquisition offer for half of the company from an unnamed source, believed to be a rival online casino and gaming company.

The article in the Sunday Herald reported that after just one year in business, the owners of London-based Purple Lounge had turned down a �15 million offer from a rival casino and poker company to buy half of Purple Lounge, with the other 50 per cent remaining with the existing shareholders.

However, Gorman explained, 'I had no faith in that company going forward. We're still in discussions with other people. Everything is always for sale at the right price. But I don't think we'll do a deal at the moment. We're growing so fast now. We will maximise that value next year and look at selling it towards the end of next year.'

February will see the launch of Purple Lounge�s online casino arm with more than 300 games to add to its burgeoning poker room, where players wagered �46 million last month alone.
