Horseracing the Ultimate Winner at Poker Tournament

UltimateBet.com has announced that last week�s charity online poker tournament has raised a tidy sum for the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre in Lancashire. Each player who participated in the event paid a $20 USD buy in, with half of the $20 donated to the charity and the other half going into the prize pool. UltimateBet.com also donated $50 USD for every player who participated.

'We made this easy for everyone to contribute to this great cause for horses and win prize money - while having fun playing online poker on the UltimateBet.com site,' states Annie Duke, Professional Poker Player and member of TeamUB.

Carrie Humble, MBE, founder and director of the Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre said today: 'We are most grateful to ultimatebet.com for their generous contribution to the TRC. Raising money for our less glamorous expenses is one of the most difficult jobs we face and this donation will meet the costs of our farrier for a whole month - many thanks!'

The TRC finds permanent and foster homes for thoroughbreds that have been injured or retired from racing. UltimateBet.com, as the sponsor of the 2004 Guineas Festival, is eager to form a strong relationship between the horse racing and online poker worlds and therefore sees the TRC as the perfect worthy cause.
