Woman to wear poker bracelet?

Anna Wroblewski became the only woman to win a preliminary poker event, when she trashed 324 other players at this year's Bellagio Five Star World Poker Open.

The poker fan converted her $3,000 buy-in to a whopping $337,395, beating a host of other hopefuls who had to be content with comparative crumbs from the $943,000 prize pool.

Once she'd fought tooth and nail to the final table, she relegated multiple tournament champion Erick Lindgren into eighth place and online gaming pro Peter Feldman had to make do with fourth.

Even the chip leader at start of play Abel Meijberg could not take the feisty female down, and he was duly beaten into third spot.

With only two left at the table, Jonathan Dull was not as keen as Anna the Ace, and after some shrewd play, Wroblewski managed to clinch her first major title.

Her win also got her a seat at the $25,000 World Poker Tour Championship and the possibility of becoming the first ever woman to wear the Bellagio gold bracelet.

"I'm just so happy, I can’t stop smiling," Wroblewski said after her win.

No wonder, as only a week ago, Wroblewski was grafting for $10 an hour in order to pay her bills after a bad streak in her poker career.
