Watch out watch out, there's a tell-tale about!

Richard Marcus is an expert on casino cheats, having admittedly been one himself, but now he's out to lift the lid on other dodgy gamers in a new book.

The World's Greatest Gambling scams, which is published on April 30th exposes some of the most daring casino scams ever pulled off. Whether they resulted in abject failure or big winnings for the perpetrators, they're all in here.

From those that are as simple as sleight-of-hand card-play to scams that rely on multiple participants and high-tech gadgetry, the book reveals all the tricks gamers have used to cheat at the tables.

One of the more audacious methods described was the case where players marked cards with a dye that was only visible through special contact lenses and would disappear without a trace after an hour.

But even that hardly tops the daredevil who managed to sneak a tiny receiver into a roulette ball and then controlled its movement via a radio transmitter concealed in a pack of Marlboros.

Of course, the author could hardly have left out the story of the infamous Ritz Roulette Scam, where boffins used mini-computers and mobile phones to determine what number the roulette ball would land on.

However, as much fun as it is to read of these bold and barmy schemes, recently a London casino cheat who used James Bond style spy gadgetry to bag £250,000 was sentenced to nine months in the slammer, so don't go getting any ideas!
