Back to school at Caesars

The cream of the poker pros are descending on Caesars Palace to prepare some lucky pupils for the World Series of Poker's main event. Pay attention at the back.

Phil Hellmuth, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem, Scott Fischman, Mark Seif, Joe Navarro, and Alex Outhred are among the teachers who will whip a group of poker students into shape over the three days leading up to the commencement of the 2007 tournament.

As part of the World Series of Poker Academy, this will be the first time that poker fans get the chance to be primed especially for the main event.

But it won't all be hard work, as assiduous students can let their hair down at a VIP party at PURE Nightclub during their stay.

And players will be able to put their newly-acquired skills to the test during two private tournaments, the winners of which will get a prestigious $10,000 seat to the 2007 WSOP in Las Vegas.

"There is simply no better way to prepare for poker's biggest tournament than to learn first-hand from the players who've been there and won it all," said Jeff Goldenberg of Post Oak Productions, the company that produces the WSOP Academy.

"Where else could you have lunch with Phil Hellmuth, party with the top poker players in the world at PURE, have your play analyzed by Greg Raymer, and have Joe Navarro dissect a tell you're giving away at the table?"

But don't forget to pay your tuition fees - a whopping $2,199 will get you a seat at the prestigious poker school.
