Six-month-old lifts European poker cup

Roy 'The Boy' Brindley made sure that his own boy was in on celebrations when he let his six-month-old son Sebastian lift the trophy after the Irish ace triumphed at the Poker Masters of Europe tournament.

Brindley beat William Thorson in an epic heads up which earned him $120,000 and the second-placed Swede $70,000.

The charismatic Irishman was chip leader almost all the way for the final table and always looked a likely winner.

British internet qualifiers Steve Cordy and Richard Collier were knocked out early on and Hendon Mobster Ram Vaswani could only manage $25,000 of winnings.

Poker tough guy Tony Guoga only managed third place and then sweetly announced that the $36,000 he earned would be donated to charity, split between The Prince's Trust and Lithuanian poverty charity Bedu Turgus.

But the day belonged to Brindley, who said: "I got to the stage where I was really enjoying playing winning or losing. This is the first televised tournament I've won in five years. It means a great deal. More so financially now we have the baby."
