Poker Aces from all over the world are under starter�s orders this week as the preliminary rounds of poker�s most prestigious tournament get underway this Thursday. Binion�s Horseshoe is literally a full house as it prepares for the 35th Annual World Series of poker which, this year, is the bigger than ever. Thanks to online poker sponsorship, the competition has an unprecedented amount of entrants, as amateurs tussle and hustle beside the pros for the title of World Champion and a jackpot expected to exceed $3 million.

And Benny Binion would be proud. The man who started it all would have loved the international attention it gets these days, his daughter Becky said recently, particularly as it�s back at the Horseshoe again - the casino he built himself.

�He loved poker players and high stakes action,� she said, �in 85 years he never encountered a bet too large to cover - and the World Series of Poker was one of his finest achievements. And he would be proud that the hospitality and first-rate service he always insisted upon continues to the present day.�

The series runs from April 22 until May 28 and will be televised throughout the world.
