WSOP Main Event Down to Final Table

The World Series Of Poker (WSOP) has now reached its final stages with the nine victorious players of the Final Table using today’s rest day to prepare for one last hurrah, or Harrah if you will, on Tuesday at 12:00pm PDT.

Saturday saw the original field of 6,358 thinned down to the remaining 36 best players. One player to go home early was 1996 main event winner Huckleberry ‘Huck’ Seed as he busted out alongside Copenhagen-born Gus Hansen and Costa Rican professional Humberto Brenes.

In one of the highlights of the Main Event so far, Dag Martin Mikkelsen, a Norwegian who only turned 21 three weeks ago, pushed another player all-in with an ace and king of diamonds, while his opponent flipped over pocket eights. A jack and ten of diamonds and a jack of hearts came on the flop with a six of diamonds coming on the turn to give Mikkelsen a flush and leaving his opponent hoping for an eight or jack for a full house. A queen of diamonds on the river shut the door, giving Mikkelsen a royal flush and a cry from the television-studio audience at the Las Vegas event.

However, all eyes will now be on the final table, which has been wiped down and primed for its Tuesday 12:00 noon PDT start time.

The final nine players are as follows:

Seat 1 - Jon Kalmar - 20.32 million

Seat 2 - Lee Childs - 13.24 million

Seat 3 - Philip Hilm - 22.07 million

Seat 4 - Jerry Yang - 8.45 million

Seat 7 - Alex Kravchenko - 6.57 million

Seat 8 - Lee Watkinson - 9.925 million

Seat 9 - Hevad 'Rain' Khan - 9.205 million
