PKR SCOOPS 300K PLAYERS

PKR SCOOPS 300K PLAYERS

LONDON, March 5, 2007 – PKR, the next generation poker room, has today announced that it has registered over 300,000 players. The site has added 200,000 players since Christmas alone and the rate continues to accelerate.

The figures show astonishing growth rates, particularly in light of recent American legislation that prevented the company from accepting US based players. This leaves PKR as the only poker site that has seen significant player expansion despite not allowing US play.

PKR’s phenomenal growth comes on the back of a highly successful launch campaign across Europe which has seen the site sign up nearly 5,000 players every day.

Daily play rates are at almost 7,000 players online during peak periods, strengthening the company’s liquidity and ensuring that players are finding plenty of willing opponents in both cash games and tournaments.

PKR has also been ranked in the top five leading poker companies by specialist online gambling group Global Betting and Gaming Consultants (GBGC). The announcement, based on analysis of page hits and user numbers, puts PKR in league with established leaders in the online poker space.

Simon Prodger, Marketing Director of PKR said, “We’re thrilled to be seeing these kinds of numbers and it proves that PKR has taken a very strong hold of the online poker market. What’s more our growth is continuing to accelerate so this is just the beginning.”
