PokerStars.com Plays For Charity

Online poker room PokerStars.com has announced that the final in a string of charity events to aid refugees in the Darfur region of western Sudan will take place this Sunday.

The Costa Rica-based site said that the tournament would be a ten-dollar re-buy event where it will be matching the total prize pool with all monies being donated to the Not On Our Watch (NOOW) charity.

NOOW is the brainchild of actors George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle together with producer Jerry Weintraub to help relieve suffering in the war-ravaged African territory.

PokerStars.com and its players have already helped to raise well over one million dollars for the charity and the winner of this Sunday�s event will receive a professional poker table baize signed by the stars from the film Oceans Thirteen.

Players can also donate money directly to the Darfur cause online with all donations being matched by PokerStars.com.
