El Blondie proves his talent

Dave 'El Blondie' Colclough has shown his poker skills at this year's UK Open with some impressive results.

After coming fifth in Event 1, Colclough managed to finish top of the pile at the National Poker League Open's Event 2, taking home a share of the £14,500 total prize pool.

The No Limit Hold'em event was eagerly contested by 29 players at the Loose Cannon Club in London, Poker Listings reports.

Going into the final table second in the chip count, El Blondie faced some stiff competition, with Jason De Freitas out in front and Paul Ephremsen, Hugh Mallally, Stuart Nash and Albert Sapiano all hot on his heels.

But Colclough managed to hold his nerve in a tough battle that went on for 122 hands before he was finally crowned the event winner.
