Casino Red Wins UK Licence

In the UK, leading online casino CasinoRed.com has announced that it has been granted a license to open its first land-based casino and entertainment venue.

Casino Red Ltd operates CasinoRed.com and has been given permission to site a casino in the former Princess Cinema on Northumberland Street in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

“Everyone associated with Casino Red is delighted to now have the opportunity to develop an entertainment venue that the town can enjoy,” said Nicholas Boyes-Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Casino Red.

“The decision means Casino Red will open the doors to its first land-based site within six months, creating over 120 jobs and bringing £10 million worth of investment to the area in the process.”

The Macclesfield-based company said that the development would ensure that one of Huddersfield''''s most loved listed buildings is sympathetically restored to its former glory as the centrepiece of the town’s entertainment scene.

“Huddersfield is a vibrant town with a thriving social scene and we are confident of developing a spectacular site for a tremendous town,'''' added Boyes-Hunter.

Visitors to the new venue will be welcomed by a reception area from where they can access any of the facilities on offer spread over four floors including gaming, fine dining and live entertainment.

''''The decision is a fantastic result for Huddersfield,” said Jonathan Truelove, Chief Operating Officer of Casino Red.

“Our venue will be a massive addition to the town''''s entertainment and leisure facilities and will draw visitors from far and wide.''''

The basement of the casino will house a dedicated poker room, while the ground floor will host the rest of the venue’s gaming activities including blackjack, roulette and electronic machines.

The site’s mezzanine circle will host Scarlet, an 85-seat restaurant and separate circle bar, both with views down onto the ground floor gaming and stage area.

“I believe this is a huge chance to provide the people of Huddersfield with a casino they will be proud of and will quickly be recognised as one of the best in the country.'''' said Dov Haase, General Manager of the new casino.
