WSOPE kicks off with face off

Just before the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) 2007 begins, a cinema press conference will see two of the biggest rivals in poker face up to each other in front of journalists.

On September 6th at the Odeon West End Cinema in London's Leicester Square Betfair will officially launch the WSOPE and poker 'brat' Phil Hellmuth and Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott will be there to trade insults.

World Series Of Poker (WSOP) commissioner Jeffrey Pollack will give a speech and Betfair's CEO David Yu will show off the World Series of Poker bracelets, which will be available in the UK for the first time.

The three-day, £2,500 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. event will then begin at The Casino at The Empire down the road. After this players will compete in the £ 5,000 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha event, then September 10th will see the WSOPE main event begin its six-day stretch.

Among the poker legends heading to London for the inaugural WSOPE are Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Eric Seidel, Gus Hanson, Jennifer Harman, Allen Cunningham, Howard Lederer and Jamie Gold.
