Extreme poker hits the rocks

The latest Extreme Poker event has been announced, which will see six Australian players suspended above rocks and the Pacific Ocean at North Head, near Sydney.

Extreme Poker, as the name suggests, is about players keeping their cool while playing under extreme conditions.

Challenges faced by Extreme Poker players in the past have included an underwater game in the Caribbean Sea, a match the Arctic Circle and a tournament played flying 30,000 feet above the Las Vegas desert.

Forfeits for losing players have been radical, but this time players who can not cut the mustard, at Texas Hold'Em will have to leap down the 90 metre drop into the sea.

As if that wasn't pant-wetting enough, the winner will have the dubious pleasure of being sent to the Caribbean Island of St Kitts for the Extreme Poker Underwater finals in December.

Peter Marcus, Extreme Poker organiser said: "Extreme Poker is aimed to test the physical and mental limits of even the most seasoned pub poker player and takes the much-loved game of Texas Hold'em to heart racing and exhilarating frontiers.

"Sydney will prove the most challenging poker game ever with endurance, ability and nerves all being put to the test."

The fourth International Extreme Poker event will take place on October 4th.
