CGW hands out poker packets

The Internet Gambling Regulation & Enforcement Act (IGREA) Initiative has got underway after representatives from Casino Gambling Web (CGW) delivered 435 packets of information to congressmen.

Contained in the packets was information about the current state of online gambling in the US plus a CD containing petition signatures and comments from each state in a bid to make known the interests of the public as well as testimony from the Financial Services Hearing on whether internet gambling could currently be effectively regulated.

The packages explained the ten reasons why internet gambling should be legalised, while they also included a summary of Barney Frank's bill.

In addition, three CGW representatives personally went to Washington DC to talk to congressional aids, lawyers, and the Poker Player Alliance, among others.

One of the representatives said: "We went to Washington DC to let everyone in the nation's capital know how big of an issue the illegality of Internet gambling is in the US, and we left feeling as if we accomplished our mission."

"We did our part," the rep continued. "Now it's up to those 15 to 25 million Americans we went there to fight for to start calling their congress people and express their support for the IGREA Initiative."

The CGW is now urging people to call their representative in congress on a daily basis until the bill is passed.
