Online Poker Room Announces WPT Prize

Antigua-based online casino PlayersOnly.com is sending winners of its tournaments to the World Poker Tour (WPT) North American Poker Championship in late-October where they’ll play for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

This Sunday will see the last in the month-long series of PlayersOnly.com’s Super Satellites where players can qualify for the chance to attend the Niagara Falls event through sit and go and multi-table cash satellites held throughout the week. The buy-in for this final WPT North American Poker Championship qualifier is $200 plus a twelve-dollar fee.

“There were quite a lot of players and some pretty stiff competition, especially when it got down to the last eight of us,” said last Sunday’s satellite winner.

“I held my own though. Hopefully I’ll do okay in Niagara Falls.”

In addition, last night was the final heat in PlayersOnly.com’s Gold Card Poker Tour Leaderboard contest, which was a special competition for participants in its Gold Card rewards program. The top 100 in this competition now join the top 100 from previous heats for the Gold Card Poker Tour Final on September 29 when another $12,000 WPT North American Poker Championship prize package will be awarded to the ultimate winner.

“Our players love tournaments,” said David Anderson, Manager for PlayersOnly.com. “We gave away $25,000 in tournament prizes over the summer and we’re continuing into the fall with the WPT qualifiers and the Million Dollar Free Roll Tournament that also started this month.”

The $12,000 prize package being awarded to Super Satellite and Gold Card Poker Tour Leaderboard winners includes the $10,000 registration fee for the WPT North American Poker Championship tournament along with travel expenses to the Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Canada.
