GUKPT Schedule Unveiled

The sponsor of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT), Blue Square, has announced the schedule for the event being held at the Grosvenor Victoria casino in London.

The nine-day long festival of poker gets underway on November 24 and concludes on December 2. It is expected that up to 400 players will take part with the prize pool exceeding two million dollars and a first prize in the region of $800,000. The final table is to be recorded by Sunset And Vine for transmission on Channel 4 later in the year.

In addition to the �6,000 Grand Final Main Event, the Tour will also feature the inaugural GUKPT Heads-Up Championship, which will cost $3,000 to enter and be restricted to 64 players. Blue Square poker has added $20,000 to the prize pool with the eventual winner also securing a free entry into the Grand Final Main Event. Seats for the Heads-Up event are to go on sale on a first come first serve basis at the Vic from September 17 with some seats being set aside for live and online satellites.

The winners of the Grand Final Main Event, the overnight chip leader on each day of the competition and the player who exits on the bubble, just missing out on the official prize money, will also receive additional prizes.

Satellites for the Grand Final Main Event are to take place each afternoon during the festival with details being announced shortly.
