Poker Den Attracts Poker’s Big Guns

Leading online poker room PartyPoker.com has announced that some of the biggest names in the world of poker are expected to take part in Monday’s Poker Den: The Big Game II.

The 24-hour continuous cash game will be broadcast on network television around the world next year and Phil Hellmuth, Dave ‘The Devilfish’ Ulliott, Tony G, Roland De Wolfe, Brian Townsend, Ian Frazer, Roy Brindley, Ian Woodley, Anthony Hardy, Neil Channing, Dave Gregory and Phil Curtis are among those expected to buy-in.

Other recent confirmations for the game organized by Matchroom Sport include Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson, Kasey Thompson, Max Pescatori and the winner of the first World Series Of Poker Europe (WSOPE) bracelet, Thomas ‘Buzzer’ Bihl.

“The line-up is growing stronger all the time, the Poker Den regulars will feel the full force of an international invasion,” said a spokesman for PartyPoker.com. “Johnny Chan and Robert Williamson III have also expressed a desire to play. With the amount of players who want to be involved and get prominent television exposure, the cash game could probably last a week.”

The buy-in for the UK event stands at a minimum of $10,000 with blinds starting at $25/$50. Players will be free to leave the table at any time with the Tournament Director taking a flexible approach dependent on a consensus between players.

American poker commentator Jesse May is to lead a panel watching the match that is set to include a selection of professionals with many of the players expected to make their way to the game in a specially chartered helicopter.

The first Poker Den was UK television’s first 24-hour cash game and clips that were broadcast on the Five television network have become cult viewing on the Internet.
