Wednesday 5th September 2007 Bart Simpson to Host Poker Event
Emmy award-winning actress Nancy Cartwright is to host the second annual Monte Carlo Night to benefit the Los Angeles Police Department’s Devonshire Police Activities League Supporters (PALS) Youth Center for at-risk children at the end of the month in California.
Cartwright is best known as the voice of Bart Simpson and the no-limit Texas Hold’em tournament will be held at the actress’ Northridge home on September 29.
Celebrities including Brad Garrett, Chris Masterson, Danny Masterson, Laura Prepon, Marisol Nichols, Bruce Davison, Patrick Cassidy and Chris Slade are expected to attend with proceeds going to help fund PALS’ programs for at-risk children.
The event’s honorary celebrity supporters include Anne Archer, Catherine Bell, Camryn Manheim, Sinbad, Isaac Hayes and Bryan Cranston and poker professionals already having expressed an interest in playing include Jamie Gold, TJ Cloutier, Susie Issacs, Steve Dannerman, Jennifer Harman, Marco Traniello, Todd Brunson, Kenna James, Mel Judah, Daniel Negraneau, Liz Lieu and Johnny Chan.
The evening’s compeer, Tom Kenny, is the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants and he will introduce a wide array of music, comedy and special guest entertainment. The event is to be open to the public for a tax-deductible donation of $500, which includes admittance the party and the buy-in for the Texas Hold’em event, but those wishing to attend only the party are asked to donate $250.
Prizes on offer include five $500 seats to a World Series Of Poker (WSOP) satellite tournament, a three race ticket package for Indi Racing League 2008, four tickets to the American Idol Finale 2008, a Simpsons pinball machine signed by the cast, The Simpsons Movie poster signed by the cast, a tour for four of Fox Studios with lunch and a day on the set of 24.
