Phil Tufnell to be Britain's poker face

England cricket star Phil Tufnell is to front the ITV4 coverage of the Great British Poker Tour (GBPT), providing commentary along with poker pro Simon 'Aces' Trumper, according to Pokernews website.

While the GBPT has so far stopped off in Edinburgh, Teesside, Nottingham, Bournemouth and Leeds, the Grand Final will take place at Bristol's Gala Casino in Harbourside from November 5th to 11th.

This year's prize pool will be £650,000, and will see poker pros, poker amateurs and celebrities battle it out for a grab of the cash.

Twelve one-hour TV episodes will document all the action with detailed coverage of final table play, including a view of each player's hands.

Tuffers commented: "I am really excited to be involved with the GBPT. I've really got into poker recently and I try and play as much as I can. Poker really is a game that anyone can learn.

"I've entered several tournaments in the past and not done too badly. I even released a DVD last year to teach people how to play so hopefully I can bring my knowledge and experience of the game to the viewers."

ITV4 channel controller, David Fewings, added: "We're looking forward to having The Great British Poker Championship on ITV4 this autumn. The popularity of poker is growing every day and I'm sure this will be a fantastic contest."
