Monday 8th October 2007 EPT Baden begins
Players from around the world descended on the medieval spa town of Baden, just outside Vienna for day one of the Pokerstars.com European Tour. Stops one and two in this year's tour have already visited Barcelona and London, although day one in Austria is not split over two days. The tour instead starts on a Sunday, continuing to a Wednesday and allowing players to start with 10,000 chips and a buy-in of 7,600 (£5,246) plus 400. The tournament starts with some Team Pokerstars.com players, including Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Rousso, Katja Thater, Hevad Khan and Dario Minieri. Other players include Bertrand 'Elky' Grospellier, Luca Paqano, Noah Boeken and Barry Greenstein. And all will be hoping to emulate Sander Lylloff, who scooped 1.1 million first prize in the Barcelona event, along with Joseph Mouawad, who collected £611,520 in London. In the early stages, however, Greenstein was out - handing over his customary signed copy of his latest book to the player who eliminated him.
