Poker After Dark Begins

In America, national terrestrial television broadcaster NBC has announced that poker fans will be able to see the latest instalments of its Poker After Dark television series this week.

The show is set to air as part of NBC’s late night programming beginning at just after two in the morning and continuing for five consecutive nights. It will also show a special programme, Director's Cut, on October 13 at one o’clock in the morning.

The broadcaster announced that the stakes are set to be higher this time around with the winner likely to take home around $300,000. The losers get nothing, which adds to the incentive to win and the killer instincts of players with big buy-ins invested.

The line-up for the week is set to include David Benyamine, Allen Cunningham, Jennifer Harman, Phil Ivey, Barry Greenstein and Eli Elezra, all of whom will bring $50,000 to the table and create the biggest prize pool in the history of the NBC winner-takes-all show. Five of the six participants are World Series Of Poker (WSOP) bracelet holders with a record of over $25 million in winnings combined.
