WSOP launches game for Christmas

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has announced the launch of a new game in time for the Christmas rush.

Gamers who cannot get enough of the thrill of the world of poker can now pit their wits against some of the top pros in the game - albeit in digital form - including the likes of Phil Hellmuth.

World Series of Poker 2008: Battle for the Bracelets is being launched on the PlayStation 3 and those behind the game are confident it is going to be a hit with poker players this Christmas.

But it's not just the top poker pros and past winners of the WSOP who get a look-in on the format, as the developers have gone for a touch of celebrity glamour, including star poker players such as Shannon Elizabeth.

So for those who find that simply playing online against other poker fans from around the world is not enough, this latest offering gives them the chance to pit their wits against some of the top names in the game - even if doing so in real life is only a distant dream!
