Online Casino Guide Gets Commercial Break

In the UK, following a change in the law that enables gaming companies to advertise on television, online casino and poker room guide CasinoChoice.co.uk has announced that it is to begin airing an advertisement today developed by London-based agency Home across a number of Sky channels.

“We are looking forward to a powerful, impactful campaign” said Graham Edmond, Operations Director for CasinoGuide.co.uk.

“We help new users choose a safe, trusted and fair online casino or poker room in the same way that comparison engines have been helping people find better insurance deals over the past few years.

“Online gambling should be conducted in a responsible manner and when done so provides a great form of entertainment. We’re here to ensure it remains so and help ensure new players do not make common mistakes such as playing at unlicensed or unfair casinos where they may or may not get paid”.

Although 48 per cent of the UK’s adult population gambled last year, only six per cent have ever gambled online. However, following the change in legislation, this could rapidly change with many companies gearing up for the anticipated growth. Consumer interest is such that only this week an expert on BBC 2’s Dragons Den provided major investment for a newcomer gambling portal, GamingAlerts.co.uk.

“Although the new portal will be operating in the same space as CasinoChoice.co.uk, we don’t view their alerts system as competition,” Edmond said.
