Absolute Releases Online Investigations Statement

In the continuing scandal regarding allegations of cheating at Absolute Poker, the company has released a statement on the preliminary findings of its own internal investigation.

Absolute Poker stated that its findings have revealed that the unidentified perpetrator of the scheme was immediately terminated upon discovery and it also stated that it has now fully corrected the problem that allowed its systems to be unfairly manipulated and is working to enhance existing safeguards.

The company reported that, since the initiation of the internal investigation, its databases have been locked down to ensure the integrity of the auditors’ inquiry and that, even after completion of this audit, it intends to continue working with third-party auditors and security firms to ensure that the highest levels of game integrity are upheld.

Absolute Poker stated that the scope of the current audit by investigators would not be limited to a certain time period even though the suspected period of time for the original security breach has been identified.

It has also initiated a thorough review of gameplay to identify all of the adversely affected players and will refund any losses incurred by affected customers.

The company stated that it is instituting strict guidelines to restrict employees, consultants, contractors and members of their households from playing for money on its sites and that it expects its internal inquiry to last for at least several more weeks.

The company stated that it would continue to cooperate with Kahnawake Gaming Commission’s investigation and work with Gaming Associates until outstanding investigations and inquiries were complete.
